Ngā Mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for experienced Class 5 Truck Driver Operators to join our team. This role offers the chance to work across a variety of projects, with opportunities to operate different vehicles and machinery. You’ll play an integral role in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of materials and the smooth execution of on-site operations.
Ngā Haepapa | Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily pre-start vehicle inspections and complete condition reports.
Drive and operate 6-, 8-, and 10-wheel rigid body trucks (synchro and automatic gearboxes) with both tipping and non-tipping walking floor bodies.
Maintain a clean and presentable truck, both inside and out.
Adhere to scheduled maintenance and cleaning routines.
Pick up and deliver asphalt from plants to job sites.
Tip into asphalt pavers and collect profiling’s for transport to dump or recycling sites.
Transport aggregates or other raw materials from quarries to job sites.
Operate machinery such as excavators, rollers, graders, and other tools when required.
Transport, load, and unload machinery to and from work sites safely and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all transport regulations and company Health & Safety policies.
Complete daily logbooks and report damages or defective equipment promptly.
Provide traffic updates and communicate delays to your Supervisor.
Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, site personnel, and other team members.
Follow job briefs and instructions to ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
Use materials, supplies, and equipment efficiently to minimise waste.
Assist with hand tools and other on-site tasks as required to get the job done.
Ōu Pūkenga | About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A valid Class 5 driver’s license with experience driving heavy vehicles.
3- 5 years’ experience with class 5 trailers delivering asphalt, fuel, bitumen, or aggregate.
Desirable:
Prior experience in a similar role.
Hold a NZIHT Bitumen related certificate or willing to conduct the short course.
Hold a Dangerous Goods Licence.
Flexible to work days and nights
