Ngā Mahi | The Opportunity

We are experiencing significant growth as a business and are looking for a Financial Advisor that can come in and take charge of our financial systems (which are currently being outsourced). We envision this role growing to eventually manage a team to support with financial reporting, tracking and management of the business. This role will be crucial in helping the managing director make informed decisions around business growth opportunities.

Ngā Haepapa | Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a stocktake to understand what financial systems we have in place to provide recommendations on what the business needs to implement to ensure greater financial visibility.

  • Lead and implement key processes and systems to streamline current operations and the implementation of financial reporting and tracking systems for robust data collection.

  • Develop financial policies and strategies that align with overall objectives and support decision-making.

  • Manage end-to-end financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and asset management.

  • Lead budgeting processes, collaborating with various business areas to develop achievable financial plans.

  • Provide comprehensive financial support, reporting, and advice.

  • Offer expert advice on investments, financial risks, opportunities, and post-investment evaluations.

  • Create financial models to evaluate long-term strategic options in line with organisational goals.

  • Deliver multi-year financial guidance and reporting to steer strategic planning and performance tracking.

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, regulations, and data inter-relationships within financial systems.

  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial systems management.

  • Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset, capable of interpreting complex data to support organisational goals.

  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and a high level of proficiency in financial software and Excel.

  • Effective communicator, skilled at conveying financial insights clearly to other team members.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and driving business performance.

  • Preferably a CAANZ member or working towards membership - but not necessary.
